like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.raepica.com\/2019\/05\/challenging-behavior-in-early-childhood-settings\/\" target=\"_blank\">these things in this blog post<\/a> by Rae Pica, and read about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thewest.com.au\/news\/perth\/researchers-find-gen-z-falling-behind-gen-x-in-childhood-physical-skills-ng-b881228537z\" target=\"_blank\">diminishing physical skills<\/a>\u00a0in that there Australian article.\u00a0 Pals, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.popsci.com\/industry-insiders-dont-use-their-products-like-we-do\/\" target=\"_blank\">tech insiders don&#8217;t use the stuff<\/a> like we&#8217;ve been coerced to.\u00a0 Children are being predated on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2019-06-17\/the-most-popular-kids-video-site-in-the-world-isn-t-for-kids?eType=EmailBlastContent&amp;eId=c96dc8d5-0ec2-41d4-a482-85ba296773a5\" target=\"_blank\">by the tech companies<\/a> as well as the weirdos on their platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Sigh.\u00a0 Too much tech gets in the way of lots of other important things that children need to do.\u00a0 They have WORK to do (they need <a href=\"https:\/\/the-riotact.com\/senior-australian-of-the-year-says-children-need-attention-love-and-plenty-of-free-time\/308789\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;love, attention and plenty of free time&#8221;<\/a>), if they are to be allowed to be thought <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/heres-what-teachers-look-for-when-kids-start-school-116523\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;ready for school&#8221;<\/a> at the appropriate age.\u00a0 They gotta figure out how to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amightygirl.com\/blog?p=23651&amp;utm_source=newsletter&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=20190624&amp;ts=20190624\" target=\"_blank\">make sense of emotion<\/a>, they need <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futurity.org\/adversity-child-development-cortisol-2083862-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">adults helping them to process trauma<\/a>\u00a0before it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brainpickings.org\/2016\/06\/20\/the-body-keeps-the-score-van-der-kolk\/\" target=\"_blank\">gets lodged in their bodies<\/a>, and they<a href=\"https:\/\/rhythmsofplay.com\/get-outside-connect-climb-a-tree\/\" target=\"_blank\"> gotta climb trees<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I mean, we all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2019\/06\/190613095227.htm\" target=\"_blank\">gotta get outside more<\/a>, preferably to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gardeningknowhow.com\/garden-how-to\/soil-fertilizers\/antidepressant-microbes-soil.htm\" target=\"_blank\">dig in the dirt<\/a>.\u00a0 We are going to have to continue to raise a little hell, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stardem.com\/news\/local_news\/maryland-mother-pushes-for-screen-time-regulations-in-schools\/article_29f329ca-7748-50e4-bfcb-1c298a70bf77.html?eType=EmailBlastContent&amp;eId=e07b03e7-3f30-4fe8-97a5-e1806600d8b0\" target=\"_blank\">like this mama in Maryland <\/a>who I salute from afar as she advocates for saner screen use in her school.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apnews.com\/24dc14b8bd96473db7504451c1acbb93\" target=\"_blank\">Put books in all waiting rooms!!<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kia Ora ladies and gentlegeeks, If you are in NZ, I hope the school hols are treating you kindly.\u00a0 Today has been a great day for a warm fire, baking and puzzles.\u00a0 Soon I shall get serious about creating a &hellip;
