{"id":560,"date":"2017-07-24T14:28:00","date_gmt":"2017-07-24T02:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/baby.geek.nz\/?p=560"},"modified":"2017-07-24T14:28:00","modified_gmt":"2017-07-24T02:28:00","slug":"many-things-much-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/baby.geek.nz\/?p=560","title":{"rendered":"many things, much stuff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kia Ora dear friends and lovely geeks<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m just gonna dive into some link sharing, sans preamble. \u00a0Tons, today:<\/p>\n<p>First, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simplemost.com\/new-research-shows-theres-no-thing-holding-baby-much\/\" target=\"_blank\">a link to a report about some research that reminds us to hold our babies, A LOT. \u00a0There is no such thing as too much!<\/a> \u00a0(*unless your arms are sore, in which case you gotta get a sling). \u00a0And <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lse.ac.uk\/News\/Latest-news-from-LSE\/2017\/07-July-2017\/Income-directly-affects-childrens-outcomes\" target=\"_blank\">THIS is from the London School of Economics<\/a>, about the role of money in children&#8217;s lives (spoiler that is not really a spoiler: inequality is not our friend).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mothering.com\/articles\/10-breastfeeding-traditions-from-around-the-world\/?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=Mothering.com_weekly&amp;utm_source=Mothering.com20170711\" target=\"_blank\">Here is an interesting wee article from Mothering mag<\/a>, it&#8217;s about breastfeeding practices all over the world. \u00a0Go, Mongolia, go! \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/to-your-health\/wp\/2017\/06\/07\/fathers-sing-more-to-daughters-and-roughhouse-with-sons-study-finds\/?utm_term=.465f02392373\" target=\"_blank\">And here is the Washington Post, reporting on research about fathers&#8217; differing habits <\/a>with their girl- or boy-babies. \u00a0Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/hms.harvard.edu\/news\/decoding-brain-evolution?utm_source=Silverpop&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=s4&amp;utm_content=7.10.17.HMS\" target=\"_blank\">this is a li&#8217;l something from Harvard Medical School about the evolution of our brains<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So this weird thing happens now and then where the people raising a ruckus about the stuff I care about are those who seemingly sit on the opposite (i.e. Right!) of the political spectrum to me and my lefty ways. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nz.educationhq.com\/news\/40454\/families-group-concerned-about-the-increase-in-screen-time-at-school\/?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=EducationWeek%20New%20Zealand%20Jul%207&amp;utm_content=EducationWeek%20New%20Zealand%20Jul%207+CID_5ac2c10c9c9e2c7540c87e082e278095&amp;utm_source=EducationHQ%20Campaigns&amp;utm_term=Families%20group%20concerned%20about%20the%20increase%20in%20screen%20time%20at%20school\" target=\"_blank\">It is true here, where a group of concerned New Zealanders are questioning the amount of screen time in schools<\/a>. \u00a0Yeah, I&#8217;m worried too!
